Yeah… Thanksgiving is here! We have made it to the holidays.
Being thankful is such an important part of having a quality loving relationship. And at this holiday we gather with the idea of being thankful with family and feasting on the bounty of our harvest ( from the fields or from the market).
Has being truly thankful been lost with all of the planning, traveling and preparing for this day of thanks?
Let’s bring the act of being thankful to our family gathering and express it!
How about telling the family and friends that you visit something you are thankful about with regards to each individual? That could be challenging if the guest list is large. This could also be challenging if some on the guest list are people that are just plain difficult to be around! You all know what I mean, sometimes in a family circle there may be someone who isn’t fun to be around…
Making a diligent effort at being thankful will make it easier to be around that person, and maybe even fun. Maybe it could be as simple as being thankful you don’t have to go home with them!
We certainly want fun at our family gathering for Thanksgiving, this can set the tone for the rest of the holidays this season. And it feels good to be thankful.
Sometimes a gathering like this can be stressful; if you start feeling stress or irritation creeping in, do yourself and your family a favor and do something about it. Take a moment to breathe and remember what we are gathered together for….. to be thankful.
Being thankful is a willful act. That means you have to ”Do” it. Push away any accusing, judgmental thoughts and replace them with thoughts about being thankful and grateful.
Always remember to be thankful for your life partner. This is what I mean – don’t let the Thanksgiving holiday be the only time you express gratitude for your partner.
Do this every day. When you practice being thankful every day you will discover so many things to be thankful for, in your partner, In your relationship, and in the rest of your life.
When you become a master of being thankful you will bring peace, beauty and abundance into your life experience.
