I took my own advice. After I wrote a “Couple’s Activity” about going to the local theater to see a play, I did just that… I took my partner, lover, best friend (all the same person) to a local theater to see a play. It was so much fun! The play was “The Music Man”.
We knew one of the performers and we were very excited to be able to watch her in her first role on stage. What we didn’t expect to see was the wonderful interaction between the cast members. They had so much fun together it was like they didn’t really need an audience.
For us it was like we weren’t really an audience, but rather observers of the members of the cast, just playing and having fun. It was like watching children play at a park. The cast were all different ages and levels of experience, but all played with the heart of a child. It was an amazing thing to witness.
I began to ask myself: who is having more fun? The lead characters? The singing quartet? The children? The townspeople? And then I realized I was pondering (once again): who is more blessed?
While I was watching the story unfold I could feel the love and admiration that the cast members gave and showed to each other. Those feelings of love and admiration filled me completely by being a witness to the wonderful relationship those cast members had developed.
So I ask; who is more blessed? The cast members (and all involved with the production) who interacted with such love? Or was it me, being able to witness so much love?
